You must have administrative permissions within your organization in order to create a new Group.
Unless you’re an Owner or Admin for your entire organization, you’ll only be able to create Groups within your specific Area*, and your permission types will determine which kinds of Groups you can create (e.g. public vs. private).
*Only applicable for organizations with more than one Area
You can create private Groups directly in the app, but you’ll need to use the web version to create public Groups and Audiences.
On the app home screen, tap the + icon in the top right corner.
Please note: If you have permission to Create Groups from Planning Center, you will have the opportunity to select that option here. Otherwise, tapping the + icon will take you directly to the “Create Group” screen.
On the “Create Group” screen, you will be prompted to give your new Group a name, and you can optionally add a photo, subtitle, and description.
Please note: If you are an administrator for multiple Areas, you’ll also see a dropdown menu at the top of the screen with all the Areas in which you can create a Group. Be sure to select the appropriate organizational Area for your new Group.
Next, select the appropriate Group settings by toggling the conversation, expiration, and history buttons.
Finally, tap the “Create” button at the bottom of the screen. Your Group has now been created.
Log into your account on the my.jovoapp.com portal.
In the left-hand menu, click “Groups”, then in the top right corner of the Groups view page, click on the + icon.
If you are an administrator for multiple Areas, you’ll need to select the appropriate organizational Area for your new Group by clicking the "select" button next to the appropriate Area. If you’d like to create a Group that is not within a specific Area, you can select "No area".
If you have permission to create a Group from Planning Center, you will be able to select this option at the top of the page.
Otherwise, in the “Group Details” section, you will be prompted to:
Finally, tap the “Create” button at the bottom of the screen. Your Group has now been created.
