Using the Groups section in the Jovo admin site

Groups are where conversation happens on Jovo, and the Groups section of the admin site is where you look after them. This article explains what you will find there, so you can see how your groups are set up, who is in them and where they sit. It is for anyone with admin access.

See how your groups are set up at a glance

Open the Groups section and a summary sits across the top: total groups, how many are private, how many are open and how many members are active. It is a quick way to sense-check things before you go any further.

Use areas to organise your groups

Areas show where each group lives. They do two jobs: they organise your groups into sensible parts, and they let you share out who can create and manage groups, so each leader can look after their own patch.

1. Select an area to see only the groups that sit inside it.
2. Create a new area when a new part of your work needs its own home.
3. Create a group directly within an area so it is filed correctly from the start.

The groups panel sits alongside your areas and shows all groups by default. Filter by area when you want to focus on one part of your work.

Check a group's details

Open the options next to any group for an overview of how it has been set up. You will see:

• The type of group and the access its members have, such as invite only or open
• Whether people can hold conversations and react to messages
• The area the group sits in

This is the fastest way to answer questions like "why can nobody reply in here?" without opening the group's settings. For more on what each type allows, see What are the different types of Groups? and Conversation Group Features.

See who is in a group

The same view lists the people in the group, with owners shown separately from everyone else. Check this before you make a change, so you know who is responsible for the group and who will be affected.

Move from viewing to editing

You can now read your group stats at a glance, find any group by the area it sits in, check its type, access and permissions, see who owns it and who is in it, and move straight into editing when something needs to change. Everything about how your groups are arranged is in one place, so you always know what exists, where it lives and who is looking after it.
