Once you've created a group, the next step is getting people into it. This article is for anyone looking after groups in the Jovo Admin console, and it covers the four ways to invite people: by email, with a shareable link, with a QR code or by bringing members across from another group.

Before you start
You'll need admin access to the Jovo Admin console and a group that's already been created.
Invitations matter most for invite only groups, where people can only join if you invite them. If your group is set to open, you can still use the methods below to invite people directly and prompt them to join.
Find the Invitations tab
- Open the group you want to invite people to.
- Go to its Invitations tab.
Everything below happens in this tab.
Option 1: Invite by email
Best for inviting a known list of people, such as a team, a rota or a small group of leaders.
- Enter the email addresses of the people you want to invite. You can add up to 100 at a time.
- Choose the permissions everyone in this batch should have.
- Send the invitations.
Everyone in the batch gets the same permissions, so send separate batches if you want different permissions from the start. You can also change them at any time after someone has joined. See How to edit Group membership permissions.
Option 2: Invite with a link
Best for inviting a wider audience or for moving an existing group across to Jovo.
- Copy the group's invite link.
- Share it wherever your people already are, such as an email newsletter, a group chat you're moving across, your website or a message to your team.
- Regenerate the link once everyone has joined.
Option 3: Invite with a QR code
Best for inviting people in person.
- Copy the group's QR code.
- Print it on a poster, a handout or a welcome card.
- Ask people to scan it with their phone to join.
- Regenerate the code when you want to close it off.
Option 4: Invite members from another group
Best when the people you want are already gathered somewhere else in Jovo, such as bringing your volunteers into a new group for an upcoming event.
- Choose the option to select members from another group.
- Pick the group you want to invite people from.
- Select the people you want to invite.
- Confirm your selection.
They're added to your pending invitations, exactly as if you'd invited them by email.
Manage pending invitations
Everyone who's been invited but hasn't joined yet sits in your pending invitations list. You can delete any invitation you no longer want to stand, for example if you invited someone by mistake or typed an email address wrongly.
A few things worth knowing
- Regenerating closes off a link or a QR code. The old one stops working straight away, so it can't be passed on or scanned from an old poster. Regenerate once everyone has joined and you stay in control of who comes in.
- Post history is set separately. What new members see when they join is controlled in the group's settings rather than on the Invitations tab, so it's worth checking before you invite a lot of people. See "Show History" Settings and Functionality.
- There's a fifth route if you use ChurchSuite. You can invite people straight from your tags. See Invite People to Groups Using ChurchSuite Tags.

You can now invite people to your group in whichever way suits them best. Send an invitation straight to their inbox, share a link or QR code wherever they already are or bring people across from a group they're in already. Set invitations to carry the permissions you choose, the pending list shows you who hasn't joined yet and you can close off a link or code the moment you're done.
